Anxiety Workshops a Success (May 2011)
Anxiety workshops run in June for students were well attended with positive feedback. These will be run monthly throughout the new academic year. Feedback included:
‘I found the workshop very useful, it helped me to understand that I was not the only person who is dealing with it and also to understand why it happens and how to cope with it. I feel a lot more confident know that I can concur this even if it takes small steps at a time.’

"I found the workshop very interesting and helpful. It helped me to realise why I do the things that I do and how to combat them. It also showed me that many people do similar things and that you can control it. The atmosphere was good and enabled you to speak without feeling judged. I would recommend it. "

‘The workshop was very useful and relaxed. At first i was scared of turning up but i forced myself to go. It really helped me to understand what anxiety i and how to deal with it. As a result i have been able to calm myself during some stressful situations and i have also applied for further help through a place called Brooke vale just so they can check on my metal health. Thank you for all the help and i hope it helps others in the future.’

Hi,
In my opinion the workshop was by far the best help I've ever received regarding how to approach anxiety and stress. It wasn't at all threatening, which made it very easy to open up without feeling uncomfortable or embarrassed. I've learned that nothing I think is unnatural or stupid, but it is definitely possible to combat self-destructive thoughts when equipped with the techniques taught at the workshop.

I could keep going as the session was invaluable!

Hope this helps, and thank you very much for organising the event. It's really helped me progress mentally for my exams and my friend was extremely grateful for the booklet.
